THOUGHTS FOR THURSDAY......

Yesterday was one of those "run all day until you drop" kind of days. After drivers training Maggie spent the day helping the young family that "purchased" her from the youth group work auction. The youth group auctioned off the kids for a work day service to raise the needed money for the mission trip. They were able to raise the entire amount. Maggie was very happy to spend the day helping to get ready for a yard sale and babysitting. Today we are going to finish gathering the needed tools, and supplies for her trip. She leaves Saturday night. She has really been touched by the generosity and support.

Maggie was pretty excited because of all the running back and forth yesterday... between drivers training, work day, volleyball practice, and youth group she was able to drive a lot. Watching your baby girl behind the wheel is really quite an experience. She is thoroughly enjoying it and gets a kick out of fact that she can drive!

While we've been keeping up with our schedule, Tony has the week off from his normal job, and has been replacing the faucets for our bathtub. Normally this would not be a big deal, however, someone at the hospital (where Tony works an occasional security shift) is having back trouble, and Tony agreed to work his night shifts. We are just trying to be extra nice to him and stay out of his way. We like our sleep... and I am proud of him that he is willing to help the guy out. We are glad it is only for one week!

I finished my "Joel Osteen" book last night ... it was so inspirational. Here are some highlight thoughts from the book.

Happiness does not depend on your circumstances.... Its' a choice that you make.
Faith doesn't always instantly deliver you, but it always carries you through.

Don't spend all your time trying to win over your critics;
just run your own race.

You are not responsible for the happiness of everybody around you. Your are responsible for your own happiness. Be kind to everyone around you, but refuse to be manipulated. Do not take on a false sense of responsibility for the actions or attitudes of others.

The name of the book is "Become a Better you". Thanks Kathy for telling me about it!

Great pictures! Sounds like Maggie is getting in a lot of practice driving! Be sure to tell Maggie we hope she has a wonderful time on her trip and we will be praying for her safety.
What great inspirational words of wisdom from the book! I may have to read that one. Love, Susie
